Add a menu link to your active plugins

Installed plugins? Got a lot. Active plugins? Not so much.

I spend a lot of time in the WordPress admin when building, testing, and trying out plugins. Most of my test sites have tens of plugins installed, many of which are only active when I need to test them against another.

I found myself clicking on the plugins menu then clicking on the “Active” filter at the top of the screen a lot. So to save a click (and the wait time; feels like I’ve spent half my life waiting on computers) I added a link to the plugins menu that goes straight to that filtered list of active plugins only.

You can do the same using by adding this to your (child) theme’s functions.php or by creating a simple mu-plugin.
